While we absolutely loved Gal Gadot in the recent adaptation of Wonder Woman and her amazing training routine which got her into shape for the role, we love charm of the Lynda Carter Original Wonder woman!

Sunday Walk to Lose Weight !

Taken directly from an article in the British Telegraph newspaper:

” Men and women who walk briskly for more than 30 minutes a day were found to have lower BMIs and smaller waists than everyone else involved in the study. ‘Given the obesity epidemic, and the fact that a large proportion of people in the UK are inactive, recommending that people walk briskly more often is a cheap and easy policy option,’ said Dr Grace Lordon, who lead the research.”

I am 9 weeks post natal and am looking forward to slowly getting my fitness back. On this walk today I carried my baby in an ergobaby 360 sling which I find extremely comfortable and supportive. Initially it was quite difficult to work out how to secure the top strap of the sling but eventually i worked out that the best way to put the baby in on my own is to first do-up the back strap and loosen the side straps before putting it on, slide into it, then lift the baby in from the top. He is currently only 6kg so still fairly small.

A Simple Calf Release Exercise without Foam Roller – The Tricep Smash !

The wonderful Sarra from Synergy Studio North London has kindly come back to the studio to offer her expertise with a second very special advent calendar treat for you.

This exercise is designed to release the muscle tension and improves blood circulation without the need for a foam roller. What’s nice about this exercise is that you can easily vary the pressure you apply. This exercise can help relieve elbow or shoulder pain. These types of pain are typically, tennis elbow or golfers elbow.

Spend a minute doing each side and you’ll see the benefits immediately.

The Ninja Roll (like Jackie Chan)!

This is an excellent dynamic bodyweight exercise donated by Animal Flow expert Rachel. This is a fun, feel good workout that will have you feeling like Jackie Chan! This is a floor exercise where you will roll from one side to the other.

—-This is not recommended for Pregnant or Recent Post natal—-

I met Rachel 4 years ago at the first Animal Flow Course in London, since then we have become great friends and have done lots of Animal Flow together. We travelled to Miami to take part in the Animal Flow Retreat with Animal Flow Creator Mike Fitch. Rachel is a Personal Trainer in South London and also teaches Animal Flow classes.

Our calves are often neglected from all the walking and standing that we do. This exercise is designed to release the muscle tension and improves blood circulation without the need for a foam roller. What’s nice about this exercise is that you can easily vary the pressure you apply. This is a great drill if you are looking to improve your squat.
